Nigerian comedian Oga Sabinus recently explained the reasons behind his admiration for singer Davido.
He emphasized that he does not tolerate any negative comments about Davido in his presence. Sabinus also shared how Davido helped boost his visibility by sharing one of his comedy skits on social media.
Upon expressing his gratitude to Davido, the music star generously offered him N2 million to improve his equipment and enhance his comedic work.
He said;
“You can’t stand beside me and say something negative about Davido. I won’t let you. Even my woman knows.
We have a portrait of Davido in our living room. After over a decade of being an underground comedian, Davido was the first big artiste who showed me love. He shared a video of him watching my skits on his Instagram handle.
I messaged him to express gratitude and he sent 2M Naira to get good equipment and start shootings high quality skits. God Bless him forever.”
Prince Emeka Ani, a legendary Nollywood actor, has given special praise and thanks to skit maker Sabinus over the manner he treated him after they worked.
He said the skitmaker treated him like a king.
Speaking further, the veteran actor revealed that his phone temporarily froze when he received a massive credit notice from Sabinus.
Ani complimented the fellow actor and AMVCA-winning comedian on how well he treated him during the filming process.
In a now-viral video, he said that Sabinus drove a Prado Jeep to pick him up from Asaba, Delta state, for a job that involved creating a skit in Port Harcourt, Rivers state’s capital.
He said that every step of production took 15 minutes, yet he was treated like royalty at a high-end hotel.
He said:
“During my stay, he accommodated me in one of the finest hotels in Port Harcourt and arranged for a Prado Jeep to take me back to Asaba. Truly grateful for the royal treatment. Nobody has given me such respect and priority.
“After shooting a 15-minute skit with Sabinus, I was treated like royalty. He paid me before I even left Asaba, and the alert from him froze my phone for a few seconds.”
During an Instagram live session, the comedian shared the happy news of his child’s birth with his fans and followers before saying goodbye.
Sabinus was seen kissing his newborn child, whose gender has yet to be announced while smiling at the camera.
Fans and well-wishers have now crowded his page to congratulate the skit creator as he embarks on parenthood.
