The family of the late Nollywood actor John Paul Obumneme Odonwodo, also known as Junior Pope, has taken a new approach in investigating his tragic death in Nsukka.
Reports indicate that the grieving family has decided to follow a spiritual path to uncover the individuals responsible for his sudden passing.
Recall that on the 10th of April, 2024, tragedy struck when Junior Pope and four others lost their lives in a devastating boat accident while returning from a movie shoot with Adanma Luke.
There have been rumours circulating about the circumstances of their deaths, especially Jnr Pope’s, hinting at foul play and a deliberate attack, which has deeply disturbed his mother and led her to suspect that he may have been targeted.
However, a recent TikTok video shared by Akusinachi claimed that a charm known as ‘Isi Atu’ was placed at Jnr Pope’s village home, with the promise of revealing those involved in his demise.
The video emphasized that Jnr Pope’s family in Nsukka is actively seeking answers and is determined not to overlook the events surrounding the actor’s death.
In his statement:
“This thing wey una dey see for this video, for the Igbo language dem dey call am ‘Isi Atu’ that is to tell you say if your hand dey for the death of Jnr Pope, their people no go gree, we be Nsukka people, anybody wey hin hand dey there, if you follow plan make him die, we no go gree, him people no go gree. This place na him place for village, Nsukka people no go gree, we no go gree.”

In other news, Pete Edochie, a seasoned actor, has expressed his response to the tragic passing of his fellow actor, Junior Pope.
It is worth recalling that a few weeks ago, Junior Pope and four members of the crew lost their lives in a boat accident.
In a video shared online, Pete Edochie emphasized that the life of Junior Pope had been abruptly ended. He described Junior Pope as a remarkable individual who had brought immense joy to the world.
Pete Edochie urged fans to embrace Junior Pope’s spirit and advised them to let go of any unnecessary drama that has surfaced on social media following his untimely demise.
Furthermore, he acknowledged the generous gesture of a well-known businessman, E-Money, who has volunteered to support Junior Pope’s children.
“His life was cut short the way we never expected it; we shall all go someday, but not in this manner.
I want to make a general appeal let us pray to God to accept the soul of Junior Pope and cut out the nonsense people have been putting out on social media.
Let us allow his soul to rest. I am appealing. My son Junior Pope was a gift to the entire world,” Pete said in a video.
