Dino Melaye, a former legislator and the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) 2023 gubernatorial contender in Kogi State, has constructed an automated garage to accommodate his pricey and luxury cars.

The former Senator has made no secret of his passion for expensive automobiles and motorcycles. The garage outside his residence now accommodates at least 13 automobiles. The building of the carport is alleged to have cost him 35 million Naira.

Before spending money on the carport, Dino mentioned that he keeps his automobiles and motorcycles in his living room since he believes them to be furniture and changes them frequently.

“It’s part of the furniture in the living room. They enjoy the AC I enjoy too.” He said

When questioned why he chose to keep his automobiles in the living room, he replied,

“That’s all I wanted. I recently informed my architect that I want an automobile in the living room and a swimming pool dangling from the second floor.

Speaking on the bikes, he said: “I also got some very wicked badass two bikes in my living room. I have Davidson in the living room, and I have one of the fastest bikes in the world, Hayabusa, in my living room, with a crocodile seat.”

With the completion of his automatic carport, he has relocated his vehicles from the living room to their new home.

In other news, Bayo Onanuga, a presidential adviser, has urged Nigerians who are keeping dollars in their possession to sell them as soon as possible to avert financial ruin.

The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy has warned that the naira is about to rise, and speculators would lose money if they don’t sell their dollar holdings before then.

Onanuga made the remark using his X platform account in response to news that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) had cleared a significant backlog of foreign exchange.

As previously reported, the CBN has cleared the $7 billion foreign exchange (FX) backlog that existed when Yemi Cardoso took over as Governor of the central bank.

Hakama Sidi Ali, Acting Director of Corporate Communications at the CBN, revealed this development in a statement on Wednesday.

According to her, all genuine claims have been handled and only those claims proven to be bogus were not paid.

Ali added that the CBN hired an independent auditing company, Deloitte Consulting, to thoroughly review all claims, and any incorrect transactions were sent to competent authorities for further investigation.

In response to the news, Onanuga wrote:

With backlog FX settled, Naira is set to appreciate further, faster. Currency speculators should quickly dump their stock of dollars to avoid sorrows and tears.”
