Actress Ruth Eze has fearlessly addressed the hypocrisy present in Nollywood, casting doubt on the authenticity of the tributes given to the late Junior Pope.

Her bold stance reveals the hypocrisy of individuals who neglected to show support for Junior Pope while he was alive, yet now opt to praise him after his passing.

Her remarks follow numerous peers expressing their grief on social media in honor of the actor’s 44th birthday on May 7th, despite previously overlooking his skills and impact while he was alive.

She wrote:

Did u ever celebrate him when he was alive? If NO, give me one reason u’re celebrating him now he’s dead”.

“Hypocrites, pls answer me”.

The discussion that has arisen from this inquiry is crucial, as there are suspicions that she is referring to Baba Rex, who shared a tribute but strangely disabled comments on his post.

Following the demise of Junior Pope, Nigerian billionaire businessman, Emeka Okonkwo, also known as E-money, has committed to support the three sons of the late actor, Jnr Pope, who tragically lost his life in a boat accident.

It is worth noting that Jnr Pope had recorded a video before the accident, pleading with the boat driver to exercise caution and reduce speed, as he was the sole provider for his sons. Unfortunately, he did not survive the accident, leaving behind a wife and three young children.

E-money has taken to Instagram to assure that he will take on the responsibility of caring for Jnr Pope’s children, treating them as his sons.

In his words;

“It has been one week since you departed from this world, leaving behind a profound sense of loss that reverberates not only among us but also across Africa and beyond. Your presence, as both a friend and a brother, is deeply missed, JP.

The weight of your absence bears heavily upon our hearts, yet we draw comfort from the belief that God will grant us the resilience to carry forward and uphold the legacy you’ve entrusted to us.

We tenderly remember your final words on the boat, “NA ONLY ME DEM BORN I GET 3 CHILDREN NA ME GO RAISE THEM,” and we solemnly commit to honoring that vow. Your children now find solace in the embrace of the Okonkwo family, and we, as members of that family, pledge to nurture them as you would have wished.

Your absence leaves a palpable void, JP, and your memory will forever be held dear. Rest peacefully, knowing that you are deeply cherished, and may God’s blessings encompass your soul, your family, and all who hold you in their hearts. 🙏
