The Lagos State Police Command apprehended the well-known disc jockey, Obianuju Catherine Udeh, also known as DJ Switch, in the state for reportedly assaulting its officials.

As per a police insider who conversed with LIB, DJ Switch went to the police in Elemoro, Ajah on Monday, April 15 to report a man who supposedly defrauded her.

The police took action by arresting the man on the same day, and he has been in police custody since then. DJ Switch was summoned yesterday, April 17, to clarify her demands, whether she wanted the accused to face charges in court or be released on bail, as detaining an accused for more than 48 hours is against the law.

Allegedly, DJ Switch insisted that she only wanted the accused to issue an apology, which she intended to record and share online.

However, the accused adamantly refused. Consequently, the police decided to escalate the matter to court since neither party was willing to compromise.

The police source claimed that as the officers were preparing to transport the accused to court, DJ Switch purportedly used her vehicle to block the station’s entrance and purportedly assaulted the female officers involved in the case.

Subsequently, she was arrested for impeding police duties, resisting arrest, and assaulting police officers.

The accused was then taken to court and remanded in prison custody. DJ Switch is currently en route to the Magistrate court in Eti-Osa, where she will face charges for obstructing police officers on duty and assaulting them.

In other news, it has been confirmed that Bobrisky has been moved from the Ikoyi Correctional Center to the Kirikiri Prison. Bobrisky was handed a six-month prison sentence for his involvement in the abuse of the Naira.

Contrary to speculations, it is important to note that Bobrisky is not currently being held at the Ikoyi Correctional Facility.

As reported by LEADERSHIP NEWS, the well-known cross-dresser is currently being detained at the Kirikiri Prison and was discreetly transferred to Kirikiri since the previous weekend.

He mentioned that the transfer of Okuneye to Kirikiri was a procedural move, as the prison offers more space compared to the current facility.

Furthermore, it was emphasized that the relocation was necessary for security reasons, ensuring that Okuneye would complete his sentence in the new facility.

Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Federal High Court in Lagos had previously sentenced Bobrisky to six months in prison, with the judge highlighting that the punishment was intended to discourage others from engaging in currency abuse and mutilation.

Bobrisky’s gender was confirmed as male during the court proceedings last week, with reports indicating that there will be no alteration of gender or genitalia.

The source also confirmed that Bobrisky has been placed in the male section of the prison alongside other inmates, where he will be treated like any other prisoner.
