Josephina Otabor, also known as Phyna, the Season 7 winner of Big Brother Naija, has responded to claims by Ilebaye, the Season 8 winner that she got paid her prize money in full.
Ilebaye’s statement came shortly after Phyna openly lashed out at the organizers of the reality show for withholding part of her money.
Phyna, who reacted on social media, implied that Ilebaye violated the gender code by stating she had received her entire reward money.
She also stated that she would continue to seek her balance, citing that she worked hard for the money during the show’s 72-day run.

Recall that Ilebaye Odiniya, the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 8, has disclosed that she has collected her prize money from the organizers. Ilebaye earned N120 million after winning the All-Star version of the reality program in October of last year.
She verified to supporters during a recent Instagram live session that she had received the prize money.
Her disclosure comes after Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner Phyna called out the organizers, alleging she had yet to get the N100 million she won from the program in 2022.
Ilebaye explained:
“I have received my [BBNaija prize] money. I haven’t even touched tiny part of it. My money haven’t finished. I haven’t touched my prize money. And this is a fact.”
Also reacting, #BBTitans winner Khosi Twala shared screenshots to confirm that she was also paid 2 million rands complete.

Meanwhile, Multichoice has announced auditions for its ninth Big Brother Naija reality show which will soon kick off.
Multichoice shared the news on its X page on Tuesday. It also revealed how interested individuals can audition for the show.
According to the statement, audition applications will be accepted starting today, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 8:00 p.m.
In a fresh twist, the organizers announced that competitors for the forthcoming ninth season will audition in pairs.
According to the organizers, auditioning pairs can be close friends, family members, love partners, or any other combination representing a “dynamic duo.”
The post states, “Exciting News!” Biggie returns for #BBNaija Season 9 auditions with a twist! The audition requires two persons.
The statement reads:
”This year, its a search for Dynamic Duos that love the show and can turn up the heat in Biggie’s house!”Can you make a Dynamic Duo?
