Controversial Twitter personality Daniel Regha has turned to social media to share his thoughts on Nigeria’s Super Eagles’ performance in the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) final versus Ivory Coast.
On Sunday, February 11, the Super Eagles were shockingly beaten 2-1 by their Ivorian rivals.
Daniel Regha expressed unhappiness with Nigeria’s performance on the pitch.
One of his main sources of criticism was the apparent absence of a midfield presence in the Super Eagles squad.
According to Daniel Regha, the Ivory Coast squad maintained control of the game, leaving Nigeria seemingly unable to establish itself in the critical midfield struggle.
The vibrant figure then criticized the Super Eagles’ coach’s tactical approach.
He said that the coach lacked tactical flexibility, which led to the team’s poor performance on the field.
Furthermore, Daniel Regha expressed his unhappiness with the players’ lack of concentration throughout the key encounter.
In his words:
“Ivory Coast dominated the AFCON final & outplayed Nigeria, it’s almost like the Super Eagles had no midfield (which I’ve stated repeatedly but was called names). Nigeria’s performance was kinda disappointing, the coach was not tactically flexible, while the players didn’t have focus. That said, the officiating referees did an awful job.”
