Junior Pope’s Family Releases Late Nollywood Actor’s Burial Date

The burial arrangements of the late Nollywood actor, Junior Pope have been released by his family.

The family also released the burial date of the actor, whose real name is John Paul Odonwodo.

This is coming after Junior Pope and four other actors died after their boat capsized in the Anam River in Anambra State on April 10. The incident happened as they were returning from a movie shoot.

Recall that only seven of the 12 people who boarded the ill-fated boat survived, and five perished, including Junior Pope.

The details of the late actor’s funeral arrangements, signed by Divine Odonwodo on behalf of the family, indicated that, in addition to the April 23 requiem mass at Saint John-Mary Vianney Parish in Asaba, Delta State, another requiem mass is scheduled for May 13 at Christ the King Catholic Parish, G.R.A. Enugu.

On May 14, an evening of tributes and lighting will be held at the Amadeo Event Centre in Enugu at 5 p.m. A wake will be held on May 16 at his country house in Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, a hamlet in the Igbo-Etiti Local Government Area of the state.

Pope will be buried on Friday, May 17, at his rural house following a funeral ceremony at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Ukehe. The interment will take place shortly following the actor’s funeral.

On May 20, a thanksgiving liturgy will be held at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Ukehe, to conclude the burial arrangements.

Meanwhile, Nollywood actress, Angela Okorie has raised an alarm over Junior Pope’s body.

In a social media post, she warned her family not to allow people near the late actor’s body because some evil people are planning to chain his body.

She stated this while attacking her colleague, Zubby Michael.

Recall that she had earlier called out Zubby, accusing him of being envious of Junior Pope which led to him fighting him when he was alive.

She also accused Zubby of being a hypocrite who enjoys seeing others in pain. She warned further that anyone Zubby helps ends up becoming poorer than he was because Zubby takes their glory.
