Etinosa Idemudia, a prominent Nollywood actress, has proposed that abortion should be considered a viable option due to the prevalence of hungry and innocent children in the world.

In a recent post on her social media platform, she raised the question of whether it is more compassionate for a woman to terminate a pregnancy rather than subject a child to a life of prolonged suffering.

Etinosa Idemudia expressed her bewilderment at society’s strong opposition to terminating pregnancies, particularly considering the lack of discipline in using contraceptives by many individuals.

She argued that families living in poverty and bringing children into such circumstances should face legal consequences, emphasizing that if she were in the position of the child, she would find it difficult to forgive such parents.

She wrote;

With all the hungry Innocent children who are suffering all around, are we still against abortion? Isn’t abortion better than life long suffering? They never asked to be born into all this hardship. If your own future is not sure why bring an innocent person to life.

“You are not discipline enough to use condom so in your selfishness you get your wife pregnant with the 5th child no house no tangible source of income. Bringing that child into the world should be a crime. If I’m that child I’ll never forgive you.

“You will now hear things like “oh my sweet mother suffered for me. The hustle is for Mama. Her sacrifices made me who I am today. She went hungry so I can eat”… I don’t understand. She no see say food no dey before she born you? She is responsible for you! fam! they owe you!!”

Remember that Etinosa publicly disclosed her first marriage experience in January 2024. She stated that exactly one year ago she was going through hell in her marriage.

The actress, who has been married twice, described how she struggled in her first marriage due to her inability to produce children. She also stated that at the time, she believed she was the problem.

She also questioned why, in Nigeria, women are usually the ones who face criticism from their spouses and family for their failure to conceive.

Sending an inspiring message, the movie star, who received her first kid three years ago, utilized herself as a point of contact for people waiting for the fruit of the womb, particularly those suffering from PCOS, as she was.

Etinosa also addressed her second failed marriage in a TikTok video, when she broke down in tears and poured out her heart.

The actress said that her marriage ended shortly after she gave birth to her daughter and that her spouse left her.

In an interview with Sunday Scoop, Idemudia said,

“Nigeria is filled with very toxic people so one needs to protect one’s loved ones. I have never revealed the identity of my parents or any siblings and I don’t intend to reveal the identity of my husband and children, except they opt for that themselves.

I signed up for a public life when I switched careers to join the entertainment industry. I am the public person, not my family members, so I have to respect and guard their privacy. Besides, what does the public need such information for?

Did my fans conclude that I am not married? I would rather they are curious about my career plans which is what directly affects them. I did not keep my pregnancy a secret, it was just a private affair, because my true friends, employers and family were very aware that I was pregnant.

“It was a high-risk pregnancy but God saw me through. I was two months gone before I knew I was pregnant. I would not even have known until much later if not that my long-time doctor and friend forced me to do a pregnancy test when I was busy treating ‘stubborn malaria’.”
