Oba Saheed Elegushi, the Elegushi of the Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom in Lagos State has distanced himself from allegations of fathering Mohba’s son Liam.

Recall that since Mohbad passed away at the young age of 27 in September 2023, the paternity of his son has been in question.

Following his demise, a storm of accusations and counter-accusations erupted, with many pointing fingers at his former boss, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, and his associates, alleging that Mohbad was subjected to bullying and mistreatment, ultimately leading to his death.

Amidst the uproar surrounding the paternity dispute, a shocking allegation emerged suggesting that Oba Elegushi could potentially be the father of Mohbad’s son.

A TikToker by the name of Oloriebimusicproduction2 took to his TikTok platform and made a series of posts, leveling serious accusations and insinuating that the monarch may have played a role in the tragic demise of Mohbad.

In light of the numerous accusations, the king released a statement via his media advisor, Deyemi Saka, which was acquired by PUNCH Metro on Thursday.

Within the statement, the king vehemently rejected the implications made by specific social media users, branding them as a desperate attempt to tarnish his character by involving him in the paternity controversy surrounding Liam, the deceased musician’s child.

Oba Elegushi disclosed that an official complaint has been filed against those spreading these allegations.

The statement stated;

We would like to respond to a new desperate attempt at dragging His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Elegushi, into the needless paternity dispute over the son of Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

“The widely syndicated falsehood was promoted by some persons with the underlisted profile on the social media app TikTok, namely: Oloriebimusicproduction2, PEKINS RULES, and WESTO4LIVE. Also, the same falsehood is being promoted by Auto Success Ola, Olubukola Jesse, Teni Ologo, and Tolani Ilesanmi.

“This is to inform the public that the allegation is false and a figment of the wicked imaginations of these persons.

“HRM Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi, through his lawyers, has filed a petition against these persons with the Nigeria Police and other relevant security agencies in a bid to enforce his fundamental human rights and protect him from cyber bullies, while he is hopeful the Nigeria Police will collaborate with relevant international security organisations in this quest for redress.”

In offering his deepest condolences to the late singer’s family, Oba Elegushi made an earnest appeal to the people, encouraging them not to entangle the traditional institution in the paternity controversy.

“While we pray to Almighty God to grant the Alobas the immense strength to bear this painful loss, we urge people to refrain from dragging the integrity of His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Elegushi and the revered traditional institution he represents into public disrepute,” the statement noted.
