Nigerian actress Olayode Juliana has taken to social media to share a story how her mother’s life was saved by renowned actress, Funke Akindele.

Juliana is popular for participating in the popular TV series “Jenifa’s Diary.”

She spoke following allegations of negligence levelled against Funke.

The controversy arose from accusations made by the brother of the late Jumoke Aderounmu, who had previously worked on the same production.

Jumoke Aderounmu’s brother claimed that Funke Akindele did not respond to their pleas for assistance while his sister was battling health issues.

However, Olayode Juliana’s post sheds light on a different perspective, highlighting Funke Akindele’s remarkable acts of kindness.

According to Juliana’s Instagram message, Funke Akindele played a crucial role in saving her mother’s life when she was suffering from fibroids.

Juliana expressed deep gratitude towards Funke Akindele, recalling how the actress emptied her bank account to ensure Juliana’s mother received prompt treatment at a private hospital.

In her own words;

“Mamaaaaaaaaaaaaa @funkejenifaakindele Olufunke Omo Akindele, the one who the Lord delights in.
The apple of God’s eyes, the one who has found favor in the sight of God, the one who God has clothed with so much grace and glory, the one who God has enthroned!!! The one whose path is like a shinning light, the one whose light can not be dimmed!

Olufunke Omo Akindele, the one who has gone through fire and came out without smelling like smoke, a strong woman, a resilient woman, an amazon, a phenomenal woman, a pace setter, a record breaker, a good woman.

My mum would have died of fibroid years ago, had you not emptied your account to make sure that she was taken to a private hospital and treated immediately.

You do a lot of good but you don’t post about it, you don’t do it for publicity, a lot of people are on your payroll, you have done so much, instagram caption would not be enough to talk about it.

You have worked so hard to be where you are and God backed you up. You will never fall and you will never fail, the mighty hand of God will continue to carry for the rest of your life.
You, your children and everything that concerns you is covered by God!!!!

I LOVE YOU MAMA ❤️❤️”

This comes after the insincere display of grief by actress Funke Akindele has been publicly criticized by the brother of the late Jumoke Aderounmu.

Jumoke, a promising movie star, tragically passed away a few hours ago. The news was initially broken by filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi and later confirmed by one of Jumoke’s cousins.

Funke Akindele, who had previously cast Jumoke in her popular TV series “Jenifa’s Diary,” took to her Instagram story to express her sadness and offer condolences.

In a Yoruba language, he wrote:

Aye & camera. To ba ri won kosa,” which translates to “All for show and cameras; where were you when she was alive?” .

However, Jumoke’s brother was not pleased with Funke’s actions and accused her of hypocrisy. He referred to her public display of grief as mere “eye service.”

Furthermore, he revealed that Jumoke had made several attempts to reach out to Funke, even sending another protege of Funke Akindele, Paschaline Alex, to her. Unfortunately, Funke did not respond to Jumoke’s calls before her untimely demise.

The brother questioned why Funke is now showing fake love when it is too late. He also acknowledged the genuine support provided by Rita Dominic and Sotayo Gaga during this challenging time.

“You wey dey call tire, wey no turn-up. She even sent Pascal to you, you still no reach out!
Why the eye service now wetin she don kpai?
Omo! Shout-out to Rita Dominic and Sotayo Gaga “ he wrote.
