Maryanne Ahneeka Iwuchukwu, a former Big Brother Naija housemate, criticized Season 7 winner, Phyna, for publicly criticizing the show’s organizers regarding incomplete prizes.
Phyna had emotionally called out BBNaija organizers for not receiving 1BTC owed to her by a sponsor, now valued at over N100 million.
In response, Ahneeka disapproved of Phyna’s decision to publicly address the organizers, deeming it unwise.
During an appearance on the ‘Terms & Conditions’ podcast, the reality star expressed her belief that Phyna and other previous winners should not feel entitled to their prizes.
She said:
“The thing about Phyna is, the thing that happens when you come out of Biggie’s house and out of nowhere, from 200 followers, you have millions of people, you think you are invisible.
“It happens to everybody. It takes thoughts and management to continue hustling.
“If truly the organisers are owing Phyna money and that could be a possibility, it’s still a job at the end of the day. She needed to have found an inner counsel. Maybe she has done that and tried to have a civil discussion and it didn’t work out, I don’t know.
“But if she thinks the best way is to blackmail them on social media, I don’t think it is wise. She could have easily not emerged as the winner.
“She could have easily been the runner-up. And people saying she deserves the money, listen to me, nobody deserves that money.”
Recall that Josephina Otabor, also known as Phyna, the Season 7 winner of Big Brother Naija, has responded to claims by Ilebaye, the Season 8 winner that she got paid her prize money in full.
Ilebaye’s statement came shortly after Phyna openly lashed out at the organizers of the reality show for withholding part of her money.
Phyna, who reacted on social media, implied that Ilebaye violated the gender code by stating she had received her entire reward money.
She also stated that she would continue to seek her balance, citing that she worked hard for the money during the show’s 72-day run.
Phyna posted this on her X handle:
“Them girls take a chill pill. I’m happy y’all got your money in full according to you, seems I’m being cheated on then. Women supporting women in the mud.
“I believe I should at least get what I worked so hard for 72 days. Y’all suddenly remembered your alert screenshots and IG Live………… Common……one among others is 1BTC which is over 80m in today’s market.
“To those who got their money in full..I’m happy for you. As poor man pikin, make I ask for my money and things wey remain…..”
