Femi Adebayo’s wife, Aduke, has criticized online individuals who offer unsolicited advice in her direct messages.
She cautioned against their inconsistent approach in advising her to remain composed, stating that she would handle the situation just like she did with actress Dayo Amusa numerous times.
Aduke, who runs a food business, clarified that her recent outburst was in defense of her husband, who was publicly attacked by a fellow actor in a manner that could have been resolved privately.
She vowed to continue blocking those who attempt to persuade her to step back from supporting her husband in his disputes with his colleagues.
She wrote:
“Dear online aunties, please stop coming to my dm with your double standard narrative. I’m tired of reading your numerous dumb advice…
I’ll do what I did again and again if your favourite goes the same route, I wonder why you all think it’s okay for her to publicly call out a colleague ( when she could have easily put a call through) and subjected him to
PUBLIC criticism but it’s not okay for his wife to PUBLICLY stand up for him.. isn’t that funny? Just stop sending those dms. I’m tired of blocking.”
The controversy began when actress Dayo Amusa responded to the victory of well-known Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, at the movie premiere of Eniola Ajao’s Ajakaju.
Bobrisky’s success at the event evoked a range of emotions. He was announced as the best-dressed female, which surprised and astonished many, including award-winning actress Toyin Abraham.
Dayo Amusa, in response to the announcement, created a video expressing her dissatisfaction with the disrespect shown towards women present at the premiere.
The actress criticized the judges and organizers, stating that they were mistaken and inappropriate in naming a crossdresser as the best-dressed female. She suggested that a separate category should have been created to acknowledge crossdressers.
However, she concluded the video on a positive note, assuring her fans that she harbored no ill feelings towards anyone and simply wanted to voice her opinion.
According to the Etikonaija, Bobrisky won the Best Dressed Female award at the movie premiere in Lagos over the weekend and got a monetary reward of N1 million.
However, in a video message posted on her Instagram account, Amusa stated that it was a mockery of the ladies present at the event.
She said:
“I was at a colleague of mine premiere yesterday, they said the best dressers are to be picked; one female and one male best dresser. Don’t get me wrong, the winner could be anyone but definitely not a crossdresser. I mean, what’s wrong with us? I don’t understand it.
“I cannot imagine the judges disrespecting every woman that was there. You had to pick a winner, a female best dressed and a male best dressed and you watered the efforts of all the women at the event by giving the best dressed female to a crossdresser. I don’t understand, what is wrong with us?
