Charles Oputa, a well-known Nigerian activist, also known as Charly Boy, criticized the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for prosecuting businessman Cubana Chiefpriest for Naira abuse.

He accused the anti-corruption agency of engaging in unnecessary activities to divert the attention of Nigerians.

Charly Boy questioned why the EFCC is focusing on Naira abuse instead of more serious crimes. He defended the act of spraying Naira as a cultural tradition that fosters unity among people.

Charly Boy expressed his disappointment with the three-count charge brought against Paschal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, suggesting that the EFCC should prioritize more important tasks instead of engaging in frivolous actions that only serve to distract the less fortunate in Nigeria.

In a post on Instagram, Charly Boy shared his thoughts on the matter.

He wrote;

“Currently, the attention of Nigerians is being drawn to an issue that has no bearing whatsoever, on the well-being of the ordinary people or the National economy.

“The arrest and arraignment of person or persons spraying the local currency, Naira, at social events is now a f3cking Big deal.”

He continued: “Why focus massive energy, on frivolous, pedestrian, and harmless misdemeanor by people catching fun rather than going after those who use executive powers to steal humongous amounts from the public Treasury with reckless impunity?

“God punish all of una in EFCC, una no go die better. Ur Fathers.

“Seriously my people una think say na the kin work EFCC suppose to dey do?”

Recall that Charles Oputa, a well-known Nigerian singer and activist, also known as Charly Boy or Area Fada, has called for the release of controversial crossdresser, Bobrisky.

This is as he publicly expressed his disapproval of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for detaining Bobrisky.

In a statement on his Instagram page, Charly Boy emphasized that Bobrisky should not be the main focus of the EFCC’s investigations, stressing that the crossdresser is not the root cause of Nigeria’s problems. He called on the commission to shift its focus to more urgent matters.

Charly Boy pointed out what he saw as the EFCC’s double standards. He highlighted that many government officials, ministers, and internet fraudsters, known as ‘Yahoo boys,’ openly flaunt their wealth without facing any consequences from the EFCC.

He questioned the commission’s moral compass in targeting Bobrisky instead of addressing more serious financial crimes. He also reminded the EFCC of its core responsibilities.

Additionally, Charly Boy criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) and its supporters, accusing them of using diversionary tactics and working with influencers to divert attention from important issues like the recent increase in electricity tariffs.

In his words;

“EFCC make una go find better work and leave Bobrisky alone I beg una.
Sake bcos e spray money?
Do you know how many, civil servants, ministers yahoo old men spraying money on a daily?

Bobrisky is not our problem since you guys are no moral police. Ur work na to retrieve stolen money from the criminal group of Politicians.

But I can see dat APC people are still using the tactics from dia old playbook syndicated by Dia cash and carry influencers distracting the people with nonsense since dey can’t focus.

*This una New Electricity Tariff, who wan pay when we can barely eat?

Is dis how you people want to kill us by making great sacrifices for ur Owambe lifestyle?
