Jason Njoku Reacts to Junior Pope’s Death, Bemoans Poor Health Facilities in Nigeria

Jason Njoku, the CEO of Iroko TV has expressed his sorrow regarding the passing of actor Junior Pope.

He attributed the actor’s untimely death to the inadequate healthcare system in Nigeria.

Yesterday, distressing news emerged about Junior Pope’s tragic demise, as he drowned in a river in Anam, Anambra state.

During a live Instagram session, Stanley Ontop, a member of the late actor’s crew, revealed that Junior Pope was taken to a hospital, but there was a shortage of oxygen for his critical care, leading to the doctor pronouncing him dead.

Jason Njoku responded by expressing his dismay at the state of Nigeria’s healthcare system. He emphasized that anyone residing in Nigeria is essentially reliant on divine intervention in the event of a medical emergency.

He wrote: 
“Just know, when you are living in 🇳🇬. Anything emergency medical-related that happens, you are essentially in the hands of God.”

In other news, Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party in the upcoming 2023 elections, expressed his deep sorrow over the tragic passing of Nollywood actor, Pope Obumneme Odonwodo, widely known as Junior Pope.

In his heartfelt tribute, Obi praised Junior Pope for his remarkable talent as an actor, bringing both laughter and enlightenment to Nigerians through his entertaining performances in movies and comedy skits.

The news of his demise has left a profound impact on Obi and countless others, as they mourn the loss of a truly gifted and beloved artist.

He said:

“I am shocked by the reports of the death of yet another vibrant Nollywood actor, Pope Obumneme Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope. Our entertainment industry, and indeed our dear nation, is once again thrown into mourning, by the death of this young talented actor.

“His death is yet another great loss to the entertainment industry which has in recent years risen to become a most vibrant sector of our social and economic life. I am even more saddened to imagine the pain and agony of the families they have just left behind.

“Death is a very painful experience, but the death of a young one with a promising future is even more devastating. I sincerely commiserate with his family and the families of others who also lost their lives in the boat accident.

“I also condole with the Actors Guild of Nigeria, and the entire entertainment industry. May God give them, and all of us, the fortitude to bear this sad irreplaceable loss, and grant eternal rest to the dead. -PO”
