Meanwhile Funke Akindele has broken down in tears while addressing a damning accusation made against her.

The star actress was accused of abandoning the late Jumoke Aderounmu.

After Jumoke’s passing, her brother criticized Funke for publicly mourning her despite allegedly ignoring her during her final moments.

He claimed that Jumoke had tried to reach out to Funke multiple times, but received no response. Funke, on the other hand, explained that she had contacted Jide Awobona to inquire about Jumoke’s well-being, and was unaware of her illness.

She also mentioned that she reached out to Jumoke’s brother, but received no reply.

Funke expressed her grief over the situation and emphasized that the accusations of abandonment were false.

Funke Akindele said in part:

“Someone made a comment on my page just now that I will bury my children. What have I done wrong? When Jumoke was alive, I reached out to Jide to ask about her and he got back to me that Jummy wanted people to be calling her for jobs.

I saw Jummy’s brother’s post online yesterday that I abandoned her. I sent him a message but he didn’t respond. Nobody told me that Jummy was sick. I don’t beef any filmmaker. I have my trying moments too. I lost my mother, marriage, politics, etc. I am trying to get my life back together”.

Recall that she was publicly criticized by the brother of the late Jumoke Aderounmu.

Jumoke, a promising movie star, tragically passed away a few hours ago. The news was initially broken by filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi and later confirmed by one of Jumoke’s cousins.

Funke Akindele, who had previously cast Jumoke in her popular TV series “Jenifa’s Diary,” took to her Instagram story to express her sadness and offer condolences.

In a Yoruba language, he wrote:

Aye & camera. To ba ri won kosa,” which translates to “All for show and cameras; where were you when she was alive?” .

However, Jumoke’s brother was not pleased with Funke’s actions and accused her of hypocrisy. He referred to her public display of grief as mere “eye service.”

Furthermore, he revealed that Jumoke had made several attempts to reach out to Funke, even sending another protege of Funke Akindele, Paschaline Alex, to her. Unfortunately, Funke did not respond to Jumoke’s calls before her untimely demise.

The brother questioned why Funke is now showing fake love when it is too late. He also acknowledged the genuine support provided by Rita Dominic and Sotayo Gaga during this challenging time.

“You wey dey call tire, wey no turn-up. She even sent Pascal to you, you still no reach out!
Why the eye service now wetin she don kpai?
Omo! Shout-out to Rita Dominic and Sotayo Gaga “ he wrote.

Late Jumoke has discussed how her size was a significant impediment to her acting career.

Speaking with Sunday Scoop, the actress stated,

“I used to be bothered about my small stature when I started acting. It was a big challenge for me to get roles at that time because some producers complained about my look.

“They used to tell me that I did not look the path. However, over the years, that has stopped. The latest job I got was because of my stature.

“I am now comfortable in my skin and it is my selling point. Thankfully, my self esteem was never affected.”
