The 35-year-old, who started Yahoo Boy No Laptop, or YBNL Nation, at a young age in 2012, said the word boss does not exist in his lexicon.

According to the “Rock” singer, he is a leader because he considers everyone around him to be brothers and sisters rather than employees.

Olamide goes on to state that his role as a leader is to guide people so that they might succeed in life.

The rapper is a pioneer in Nigeria’s music business, having helped musicians on his label as well as those on other labels gain success and establish themselves in the industry.

Olamide has worked with a variety of artists over the years, including Fireboy DML, Asake, Lil Kesh, Lyta, Adekunle Gold, Zlatan Ibile, Bella Shmurda, and Chink Ekun, among others.

However, Olamide determined that his mentor, ID Cabasa, taught him all of his leadership qualities.

In his words:

“The word boss doesn’t exist in my dictionary, cause I see everybody around me like brothers. my sisters and all that it is not about me being a boss but a leader, the role of a leader is to lead so that other people can move ahead and progress in life.”
