Bright Okpocha, often known as Basketmouth, a prominent comedian, has questioned the accomplishments of Nigerian senators.
This comes amid ongoing controversy over the reported N3.7 trillion padding into the country’s 2024 budget.
According to the DAILY POST, Senator Abdul Ningi of Bauchi Central said in an interview a week ago that the N3.7 trillion in the 2024 budget could not be linked back to projects.
Following the allegations, the Senate, led by President Godswill Akpabio, suspended Ningi for three months at Tuesday’s plenary session.
Basketmouth responded to the incident in a post on his Instagram account, questioning whether the Nigerian Senate had ever done anything for the populace other than padding budgets.
He wrote:
“I have got a question, aside padding budgets, what else do our senators do?
“Like, what have they done in the past 50 years that favored the average Nigerian?”
