Meanwhile, Stephen Alajemba, alias Uwaezuoke, a veteran Nollywood actor has named veteran actor, Pete Edochie as his only senior in the movie industry.
According to him, only Pete Edochie is older than him in the Nigerian film industry in terms of years in the industry.
While he appreciates the ‘Things Fall Apart’ actor, he believes the late Solomon Eze, often known as Mike Orihedịmma, is the founder of Nollywood.
According to the actor, Orihedmma was a pioneer of Igbo cinema and Nollywood.
During a recent interview with prominent YouTuber Yan Kontent Factory, Alajemba stated:
“When you talk about Igbo movie industry, Mike Orihedịmma is the first person to be mentioned. He is the one that trained most of the people you see acting today. He was emulated by Kenneth Nnebue and Pauloo in writing ‘Living In Bondage.’“When it comes to the movie industry, the only person I respect is Pete Edochie. All the people in the movie industry today, anybody that says he is older than me in the industry, should tell us the first movie he did and what year it came out. It is only Pete Edochie that I can say that he is older than me because of Things Fall Apart.”
The actor also disclosed that his father had given birth to 11 children and that every time a male child reaches the age of 25, he dies. The 66-year-old told how the entire neighborhood was delighted about his birth but was swiftly turned off when they laid eyes on him.
Uwaezuoke claimed that his mother never received any gifts from others since they always made reasons not to see or carry him.
The humorous actor, who primarily works in Igbo films and pidgin, also stated that ladies normally lose interest in him the moment they see his face and size.
He did, however, insist that God is the only one who is superior to him.
