The Tinubu-led Federal Government has declared that President Bola Tinubu is now getting ready to announce a new minimum wage for federal workers.
This was announced in Abuja on Thursday by Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) George Akume, who also launched a fresh presidential program aimed at empowering women.
Speaking at the occasion on behalf of President Tinubu, Akume predicted that as more Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses enter the nation, things would start to change.
He declared:
“Ours is a complex federation, where the three tiers of government all have access to federation accounts and so if we work together, we can do more for our people.
“Things will begin to change as more compressed natural gas (CNG) buses make their way to the country and as we prepare for a new minimum wage.”
Remember that in 2023, the Tinubu administration and organized labor came to certain arrangements to halt the countrywide walkout.
The deal includes raising the minimum wage, implementing a cash transfer program, and providing compressed natural gas (CNG) cars as alternatives to gasoline-powered vehicles.
The federal government said in August 2023 that it would spend N100 billion between then and March 2024 to buy 3,000 20-seat buses that run on compressed natural gas.
The government allocated an additional N130 billion in December for electric cars and CNG conversion.
Additionally, the NLC proposed a minimum salary of N540,000 for its employees in the South East but sought N794,000 as the new national minimum wage for those working in the South-West zone.
In other news, Nollywood actress Queeneth Agbor has revealed the only type of man she can spend her money on.
She stated that she can only spend money on a man who has invested in her and positively influenced her life.
In a recent interview with The Punch, she made this assertion while stating that she had nothing against women giving men money.
Queeneth claims that once she finds such a loving and mindful man, she will not hesitate to spend her money lavishly on him.
The actress stated;
“I don’t know about other women, but as for me, I can only spend money on a man that has invested in me and has impacted my life. In that case, spending on him means nothing. Outside of that, I cannot spend money on a man who has not invested in me.”
She explained her social media s3x appeal, saying it’s a coping strategy she used after losing her younger sister.
“I know people think I flaunt my s3x appeal on social media. After mourning my kid sister, I needed to channel the pain properly by flaunting my God-given endowments.I did not even know I was flaunting it before now. If having a natural body in these days of BBL is s3x appeal, that means I am on the right track,” Queeneth said.
