Nkem Owoh Reacts to Mr Ibu’s Death

Osuofia, a well-known Nollywood actor, has expressed deep pain and sorrow following the sad death of colleague, John Okafor aka Mr Ibu.

The veteran actor took to his Instagram page to lament over Ibu’s death.

He reminded Nigerians that the actor created a wonderful legacy that will live on in our memories forever.

He said that he would never forget him and wished him a quiet rest in the vast beyond.

He wrote:

“Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts
We hold you close in our thoughts 🕊️🤍
R.I.P Mr IBU”

Recall that we had reported how the Nollywood legend, John Okafor aka Mr Ibu died over the weekend.

According to blogger, Tosin Silverdam, the veteran actor died on Saturday 2nd March 2024.

Tosin claimed that the legendary actor passed on in the early hours of today at Evercare hospital where he has been receiving treatment since his leg was amputated.

Speaking on Saturday, Tosin said he confirmed the sad passing of the actor whom he thought was getting better following the amputation of one of his legs.

The sad passing of Mr Ibu has also been confirmed by Emeka Rollas, President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.

Confirming Ibu’s death, Rollas took to Instagram and wrote:

Sad Day for Actors Guild of Nigeria. Kate Henshaw lost her mother earlier today and Mr Ibu suffered cardiac arrest according to his manager for 24 years Mr Don Single Nwuzor.

I announce with deep sense of grief that Mr Ibu didnt make it.

May his soul rest in peace.”

Meanwhile, Yul Edochie, an actor-turned-pastor, has taken to Instagram to give his thoughts on the certainty of death following the untimely demise of fellow actor Mr. Ibu.

In the message he posted, Yul Edochie encouraged his fans and followers to embrace death as a normal transitioning phase that everyone must go through.

The actor-turned-pastor stressed the fleeting aspect of life, claiming that individuals arrive and depart the earth in an endless cycle.

He encouraged netizens to prepare for the inescapable reality of death rather than live in dread of it.

Yul advised people to retain integrity in their dealings with others, forgive easily, and apologize when they cause hurt.

Yul Edochie wrote the following on Instagram:

“Death is a transition process that awaits us all.

“No matter what we say or do, it must come.

“People come and people go.

“So rather than fear death, we should all prepare for it.

“Be fair in all your dealings with others.

“Forgive easily.

“Apologize when you hurt others.

“Keep your hands & your heart clean.”
