An undisclosed Nigerian individual has caused controversy by suggesting the severity of the punishment that Chief Priest may face for his alleged involvement in Naira abuse.

Known for his extravagant appearances at parties and events, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) brought this charismatic figure to the court on charges related to defacing the national currency on multiple occasions.

The EFCC has charged Chief Priest with three counts, providing specific instances where he was allegedly caught on video damaging the Naira during various celebrations.

The viral video which has gained significant attention, shows Chief Priest throwing money and enjoying himself amidst the festivities.

These circulating videos have become crucial evidence in the case, revealing Cubana Chief Priest’s involvement in what authorities consider to be Naira Abuse. The release of these videos has caused public outrage and increased scrutiny, resulting in heightened legal action against the socialite.

Cubana Chief Priest’s court hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, April 17th, and if found guilty, he could face a lengthy prison sentence.

This situation bears resemblance to another well-known socialite, Bobrisky, who also faced charges and legal consequences for Naira Abuse.

Recall that, The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed it has detained controversial Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, in Lagos State.

The commission said that Bobrisky was apprehended on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, in Pinnock Estate, Lagos.

The arrest is reported to be connected to an alleged misuse of the naira money during a movie premiere.

Filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi turned to social media to spread the news, adding that Bobrisky was detained by the EFCC on Wednesday afternoon and spent the night in detention.
