In other news, A Nigerian lady has asked gospel artist and clergyman Nathaniel Bassey to pardon the social media users he sued for slander.

Recall that his attorneys petitioned the IGP after citizens claimed he was the father of Mercy Chinwo’s son.

Mercy Chinwo and her husband, Blessed Uzochikwa, have published images of their kid born in 2023.

However, the photographs elicited several opinions, with some online users saying that the infant does not belong to Pastor Blessed. Many people advised her spouse to conduct a DNA test since they felt the infant resembled Nathaniel Bassey.

The gospel musician and his attorneys went on to file a petition with the police for defamation of character, including proof, evidence, and a list of those involved. While one of the individuals involved claimed that he just shared what he saw on Facebook, a Twitter user, @TrulyDearest_, pleaded with Nathaniel Bassey to drop the matter.

According to her, this was his opportunity to exercise forgiveness as taught in the Bible.

She wrote:

“@nathanielblow it is now to demonstrate to Nigerians what Christians have been preaching about which is forgiveness. You have to prove it now.

Same people that are pushing you to sue will be the ones that will be condemning you if you go ahead with the case. Let the sleeping dog lie.”
