In other news, Yemi Alade, a celebrated singer from Nigeria, has shared the reason behind her lack of recognition in her home country, despite her undeniable success.

The singer disclosed that, at one point in the industry, everyone in the industry wanted to have s3x with her in the hopes of gaining bigger prospects.

Yemi Alade claimed that because she decided to forgo having s3x with anyone, she was immediately denied access to several privileges.

Alade urged her followers to consider why, despite having the highest number of views and subscribers among Nigerian female artists on YouTube, she hardly ever receives attention from award ceremonies.

Yemi Alade added that despite winning and receiving repeated recognition from outside the nation, she is not acknowledged as one of the biggest female artists on social media platforms.

The 35-year-old, meanwhile, stated that she is happy she chose it as it means she still has her dignity and her devoted following.

Yemi Alade revealed:

“There was a time in the industry when everyone wanted to sleep with me and it was like, ‘Yemi, if you don’t do this, you won’t have that. Today men is the reason I don’t win award in Nigeria.

….going down with men was like a bridge I had to cross to get on some platforms, get some deals and even awards. When I made my decision never to engage in sexual activities for gains, lots of opportunities were automatically blocked for me.

Ask yourself why Yemi Alade who is the most viewed and most subscribed Nigerian female artiste on YouTube gets almost no recognition from award shows year after year. Even during twitter debates, no one mentions Yemi Alade as one of the biggest female artistes in Nigeria.
