Akintoye Benson, an assistant to Musiliu Akinsanya, also known as MC Oluomo, the head of the Lagos Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, has died in a car accident.
Benson, who was seen in a wrecked automobile in a viral video, was said to have perished in an auto accident on the Third Mainland Bridge on Thursday night.
Ogunseye Vincent, a friend of the deceased, confirmed his death on Facebook, writing that Benson was a bright man with great goals and vision.
“The news of your passing came to me as a rude shock. You were a vibrant man with high hopes and vision.
“Though the memory we shared remains forever, I take solace in the trust that Olodumare will grant your soul a peaceful rest. Sail well to eternity, Comrade Akintoye Benson (Baba Ogun),” he added.
Benson was the chairman of the Tricycle Owners and Operators Association of Nigeria (TOOAN) Zone H until his death.
Attempts to reach Akinsanya for comment were unsuccessful since his phone could not be reached at the time of reporting this article.

In other news, Nigerian comedian Oghenekowhoyan Onaibe Desmond, well known as Destalker has revealed his battle with depression.
According to him, he tried to take his own life three times.
He explained that after graduating from university, he was unable to find work, so he became a commercial motorcyclist.
The comedian stated that his failure to get a profitable job or advance his profession, along with disappointments from family members, pushed him to depression.
In the newest episode of the Afrobeats Podcast,
DesTalker said:
“I graduated with a degree in Public Administration but couldn’t get a job. So I started doing okada [commercial motorcyclist]. But the truth is, I already had it on my mind that I don’t want to work for anybody.
You must have a blueprint of what you want to become even though the country has its own blueprint waiting for you.
“I was struggling. It wasn’t easy. There were a lot of distractions and it got to a point where I was suicidal. I attempted suicide three times.
I think nobody has heard this part of me. That was when I realised that even I can’t take my life. I now believed that when you’re suicidal, your miracle is close. T
he devil doesn’t just want you to attain it. The closer you are to your destiny, the difficult the challenges. That was my story.”
He thanked his fellow comedian, Ajebo, for facilitating his first significant success in the comedy profession.
