Spyro, the Nigerian singer, recently revealed his admiration for reality TV star Nengi in a post on Instagram.
During an interview, he was asked which female industry figure he would avoid being alone with, and he mentioned Nengi.
He explained that he stays away from the BBNaija star to resist temptation. Spyro also shared an encounter where he saw her at a show sitting across from him.
The “Who Is Your Guy” artist made a conscious effort to rebuke any negative thoughts and distractions until he eventually left the scene.
“An interviewer recently asked me, Which female in this industry would you never allow yourself be left in a room with? Guess who I named? That would be NENGI I no de like de too form like say I be JESUS,I am just his BOY,I ain’t him So I FLEE FROM EVERY APPEARANCE OF NENGI make dem no go get me.“Humnnnn…. Naso I jam her for one show, she sat right opposite me and I kept rebuking the devil to leave my head till I had to run.”
The musician issued the warning in a recent statement through his management company, TAP Music Entertainment Limited.
According to the statement, Spyro spoke with media personality Do2dtoun and indicated that he would be unable to produce a song for Portable since his musical style differs significantly from that of the Zazu vocalist.
According to multiple media sources, Spyro said he can’t work with Portable since the latter isn’t a skilled musician.
In the statement, Spryo’s management denied the accusation and issued a seven-day deadline for the bloggers who published the news or face legal action.
The statement reads, in part:
“As a team, we wish to use this medium to unequivocally state that at no time did Spyro outrightly state that he would not feature Portable or ever state that Portable is not a good artiste. Spyro, had in actual fact, given multiple accolades to the ingenuity of Portable in the full-on thirty minutes’ interview session.“It is no gainsaying to state that Spyro’s predominant music genres are Afropop and R&B while Portable performs street-hop. Hence, it was not out of place, during the said interview session, for Spyro to have mentioned that he does not envisage writing a song for Portable. As simple and as evident as this is, it has come to our attention that some Nigerian fans and netizens, bloggers (such as the “Wahalanetwork”), have taken it upon themselves to misrepresent the facts and to publish defamatory statements in order to bring to disrepute the name, image and brand of Spyro.“We would like to bring to the attention of media houses to seize to publish defamatory contents against Spyro as this is a tortious act and a cause of legal actions against anyone who willfully and knowingly publishes malicious, defamatory statements and willfully misrepresent facts.Based on the foregoing, we hereby demand that the posts made by Wahalanetwork, other bloggers and Netizens on this issue be taken down and expunged within seven (7) days. Where these posts are not taken down, we will not hesitate to institute legal action”
