Dino Melaye, the ex-Federal senator who previously served in the Senate representing Kogi West, has shared his perspective on the ongoing power struggle within Nigeria’s music industry.

He firmly declared Davido, the renowned Afrobeats sensation, as the industry’s leader. This statement from Dino comes amidst the enduring rivalry between two of Nigeria’s most prominent music stars, Davido and Wizkid.

He highlighted Davido’s positive impact on the entertainment industry through his influence, noting that he has benefited from it.

Dino took to his Twitter account to express his unwavering opinion on the matter.

“Davido is undoubtedly the 001 in the Nigerian music industry and undoubtedly the most patronized globally.” Dino Melaye said.

Dino Melaye’s announcement coincides with a period where supporters and admirers have been actively discussing who reigns as the leading figure in Nigerian music.

The senator’s support further intensifies the current dialogue regarding the power struggle between Davido and his counterpart, Wizkid.

Doyinsola Anuoluwapo David, popularly known as Doyin, a former Big Brother Naija reality star, has publicly criticized Wizkid for seeking attention from other celebrities.

This comes after Wizkid engaged in a social media feud with Davido earlier in the week. Doyin advised Wizkid to stop chasing clout and instead concentrate on producing new music.

She also condemned Wizkid for showing disrespect towards Don Jazzy. In a post on her Instagram account, she expressed her disapproval of Wizkid’s behavior.

She wrote:
“Don Jazzy is still the JayZ of the Nigerian music industry. If you try to disrespect him, it just shows your head is not correct. No be to dey chase clout, drop hit!”
Similarly, Tacha, a reality TV star and media personality, has cautioned Wizkid against making any derogatory remarks or showing disrespect towards Don Jazzy.
In a video posted on her social media, Tacha emphasized the important contributions Don Jazzy has made to the Nigerian music scene.
She asserted that the Afrobeats industry owes a great deal to Don Jazzy, stating that it wouldn’t be the same without him.
Tacha said:
“No Don Jazzy slander will be tolerated. Don Jazzy’s impacts on the entertainment industry can never be overemphasised.
“If you have to take off Don Jazzy’s inputs on the industry, that would be you taking half of Afrobeats away. Because who would you be listening to? Don Jazzy has grown a lot of global superstars.
“This is somebody that doesn’t restrict himself to the music industry alone. Don Jazzy is there for everybody regardless of their status.”
