Actress Shan George has requested musician Wizkid to apologize to music producer Don Jazzy for referring to him as an ‘influencer’.
Wizkid claimed this in a post on X on Monday, in response to a tweet by Don Jazzy’s signee Ladipoe.
Ladipoe wrote on X:
“Nigerian rappers that survived ‘hip hop is dead’ watching Afrobeat artists go through their own,”
Reacting to Ladipoe’s statement on X on Monday, Wizkid wrote:
“Lol. Never chatting to anyone signed to an influencer. Next.”
In an Instagram post hours later, Shan George requested Wizkid to apologize for his insult.
The actress wrote:
“Dear Wizkid, love u . But u really owe Don Jazzy a big Apology. Let me start by Apologising on Wizkid’s behalf. Abeg make una no too vex. Shalom.”
While some have viewed the term as an insult, Mr Macaroni argued that how it was used was disrespectful, and anyone who thinks otherwise would be hypocritical.
He highlighted Don Jazzy’s positive impact on the entertainment industry through his influence, noting that he has benefited from it.
Mr Macaroni also described Don Jazzy as the most significant influencer in Africa, providing free advice and visibility to emerging artists.
“Donjazzy is perhaps the biggest Entertainment Influencer in Africa. And the beautiful thing is that his influence cuts across. From music, to contents, films, brands etc.
However, we would all be hypocrites to say that the context in which he was called an influencer isn’t disrespectful to everything he has done and is still doing for the Nigerian Music Industry.
An absolute legend. He promotes Music Artistes even outside his record label. Gives free advice and visibility to up and coming artists, shows love to everyone irrespective of their status. I am also a beneficiary of his phenomenal influence!
Don Baba J!!!! Your Influence Choke!!!”
In a video shared on his social media account, VDM stated that many of Wizkid’s supporters had flooded his DMs and threatened to report his page if he did not support Star Boy.
He then challenged them to follow through on their threat within 24 hours.
Not stopping there, VeryDarkMan also described Wizkid with a lot of colorful words. He referred to the Essence crooner as being mannerless and disrespectful.
According to him, Wizkid’s fans also shield him from the repercussions of his actions.
VDM said:
“FCs just full my DM say if I talk about their popsi again, dem go chop my account. FCs I won tell una, first of all I be Edo boy, I no dey fear anybody for this life, na only God I dey fear. Una popsi has constantly disrespected a lot of people and you people know it. He no get manners, he no get respect and for somebody like that wey never even really impact on anybody for this country.
