Nigerian skitmaker and actor, Mr Macaroni has come to the defense of producer and MAVIN Records label boss, Don Jazzy following Wizkid’s reference to him as an influencer.

There has been a range of reactions online after Afrobeats star, Wizkid threw shade at some prominent figures in the music industry.

One of those targeted was Don Jazzy, who was labeled an influencer by Wizkid while criticizing his artist, Ladipoe.

While some have viewed the term as an insult, Mr Macaroni argued that how it was used was disrespectful, and anyone who thinks otherwise would be hypocritical.

He highlighted Don Jazzy’s positive impact on the entertainment industry through his influence, noting that he has benefited from it.

Mr Macaroni also described Don Jazzy as the most significant influencer in Africa, providing free advice and visibility to emerging artists.

In his statement, Mr Macaroni wrote:

“Donjazzy is perhaps the biggest Entertainment Influencer in Africa. And the beautiful thing is that his influence cuts across. From music, to contents, films, brands etc.

However, we would all be hypocrites to say that the context in which he was called an influencer isn’t disrespectful to everything he has done and is still doing for the Nigerian Music Industry.

An absolute legend. He promotes Music Artistes even outside his record label. Gives free advice and visibility to up and coming artists, shows love to everyone irrespective of their status. I am also a beneficiary of his phenomenal influence!

Don Baba J!!!! Your Influence Choke!!!”

In other news, Mr Macaroni, a popular Nigerian skitmaker, has taken to Twitter to lambast Dipo Awojide, a social media celebrity, over a post he posted on microblogging app.

The two of them engaged in a war of words on Wednesday when Awojide, also known as Ogbeni Dipo, went to X to list individuals who were “defamed” during the election.

“Wole Soyinka, Pastor Adeboye, Ooni of Ife, Joke Silver and Olu Jacobs, Pastor Poju and many others were repeatedly abused and defamed over an election,” Awojide wrote.
“And you joined them or remained silent when this madness was going on. It is shameful.”

Mr Macaroni responded in a series of tweets, accusing Awojide of being “silent” while being “repeatedly attacked” by political trolls.

The 30-year-old comedian called Awojide a “stinking hypocrite” who sent derogatory tweets about him during the election.

He wrote:
“I do not support any attack on these highly respectable individuals or anyone at all for their political choices.

“But this is Uncle Dipo criticizing those who were silent when these people were being abused. Yet he was silent when APC trolls repeatedly attacked me. Stinking Hypocrisy!

“He even laughed and frolicked with these people and engaged some of the vile tweets they tweeted not just about me but about others. But I never insulted you personally. Adagba ma danu… Agbaya!”
