Afrobeat musician Davido has stated that Nigeria is made up of only three tribes: Yoruba, Igbo, and Benin.
Davido, who goofed while entertaining prominent American content producer Kai Cenat, who is in Nigeria shooting a documentary, stated this yesterday in Lagos.
“We have three tribes in Nigeria. There’s Yoruba. My father is Yoruba. And in Nigeria, wherever your father is from, that’s where you are really from. So my father is Yoruba. My wife is from Igbo. And my mother is from Benin. I’m three tribes in one.”
Contrary to the Timeless Singer’s assertion, the National Bureau of Statistics said that Nigeria has 371 tribes, the majority of which are Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba.
Famous Afrobeats musician David Adeleke, nicknamed Davido, has referred to his wife, Chioma Rowland, as the best cook of all time.

He grieved that Chef Chi was not in the country to take the American content expert on a culinary journey.
He also went ahead to reveal that his next album is complete. According to the star, the album has 15 tracks.
He said:
“My wife is the best Chef ever, if she was around, she’d have cooked you the best food.”
Davido also said that his new album is complete, with 15 tracks and six features.
“I don’t know if I should be saying this, but my new album is finished. It consists of 15 songs and 6 features,” the singer said.
In other news, Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, President Bola Tinubu’s wife, has replied to a recent threat made by an Islamic cleric in Bauchi, calling for her to be killed.
According to DAILY POST, a viral video appeared a few weeks ago in which an Islamic cleric said that Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, deserved to die for her Christian beliefs while branding President Bola Tinubu’s Muslim/Muslim ticket as a hoax.
Undeterred by the danger, the First Lady stated that, at 64 years old, she should not dread death.
She made these statements during a courtesy visit to Bauchi’s Emir, Alhaji Rilwan Adamu, before launching several projects in the state on Tuesday.
She said:
“I want to thank His Excellency (Bauchi Governor); he keeps assuring me that I am safe in Bauchi, but I want to say that I am too old to be afraid. If God has granted me over 60 years on earth, I shouldn’t fear death.
“I thank God that you encouraged me to come. Nigeria belongs to all of us, and this is the time for us to unite more than ever before.”
In response, Bauchi Governor, Bala Mohammed, who accompanied the First Lady to the Emir’s Palace, condemned the recent death threats made against her, labeling it a “national embarrassment.”
Mohammed voiced his dismay at the event, calling the threat unacceptable.
He assured Mrs. Tinubu that she was secure in the state and promised to take proper action against the cleric guilty of the threat.
Remi Tinubu, who also serves as the National Chairperson of the Renewed Hope Initiative, was in the state to launch certain ICT and educational facilities in the capital.
