Yul Edochie, a popular Nollywood actor, has disputed his marriage to his second wife, Judy Austin.
In response to a lawsuit, he stated that he and Judith Austin are not married but rather only skit makers.
He claims their relationship is all about skits and that they do not have a legally registered union.
His estranged wife May’s legal team, led by Emeka Ugwuonye of Due Process Advocates, stated in a statement and video address that the 42-year-old claimed this in his court application.
May filed for divorce in August 2023, with the facts of the legal processes kept private.
Ugwuonye stated that the current lawsuit in the FCT High Court in Abuja, scheduled for a hearing on March 5, suffered an unexpected setback when the court session did not progress, which Yul and Judy claimed responsibility for.
As a result, Ugwuonye, who had previously kept the case information private, now feels compelled to reveal the latest developments.
May’s lawyer detailed the case’s progress, including what he saw as Yul and Judy’s defense plan.
He disputed that they were married and argued that their partnership had no official statutory sanction, claiming to be sketch makers.
May’s lawyer cited Yul’s declaration to describe how the actor rejected his marriage to Judy.
The Nollywood actor turned pastor, has sent a very strong warning to his critics. In a recent podcast, he expressed his thoughts about how others perceive him.
He remarked that, after being continually dragged for more than two years, he was still thriving and performing far better than the majority of his coworkers. He went on to say that he seldom sees hostile remarks since he is rarely online.
In his words:
I’m doing better than most if not all of my colleagues trolling me”
