Mixed emotions have emerged in response to a new photo of music mogul Michael Collins Ajereh, often known as Don Jazzy, and his ex-wife, Michelle Jackson.

Remember that Don Jazzy married Michelle Jackson, an American model and novelist, in 2003. He married his best friend, Michelle, at the age of 20, and they divorced when he was 22.

Don Jazzy said that their marriage was strained because of his ambition, and they split two years later. The Mavin boss stated that he made a mistake when he was young, full of ambition, and music came first before family.

Speaking with Naija FM 102.7 about their failed marriage, Michelle Jackson described her beautiful times with the music mogul, verified his claim that they were married for barely two years and that the marriage ended because he was involved in his music.

Michelle revealed how she met the musician, saying they met in a bar where he was handing out fliers to promote his musical group.

She shared their love story, recounting how they met and spilling juicy facts about their marriage.

Looking at the most recent images of him and his ex-wife, it is evident that they remain quite close, which is why she visited him in Nigeria last year.

Following the purchase, UMG revealed that it would allow Don Jazzy and COO Tega Oghenejobo to continue running the company.

Reacting, Don Jazzy said,

“I’m proud of the artists, careers, and brands we’ve built that have made Mavin the force it is today. In this historic partnership with UMG, we will continue that mission in Africa and across the globe.”

Tega Oghenejobo added,

” With our proven history of collaborations within the UMG family, we have a strong belief that they are the ideal partner for the next phase of our growth, given the diversity and potential of our business.

“UMG is home to some of the world’s foremost music entrepreneurs and artists, making them a perfect match for our aspirations. By collaborating with UMG, we are dedicated to cultivating a vibrant creative environment that propels African music to new heights on the global stage.”

Mavin Label, which was founded in 2012, has been a breeding ground for several musical prodigies. Its roster includes artists such as Rema, Ayra Starr, and Johnny Drille, among others.

According to the October 2023 article by Billboard, Mavin Records is either looking for investment or considering a complete sale, and sources indicate that Universal Music Group, HYBE, and financial sector investors are showing great interest in the record company.
