Fulham player Alex Iwobi has chosen Wizkid as his favorite Nigerian singer.
He says he “feels” more for the Starboy boss than Burna Boy.
In the current episode of ‘Would You Rather…,’ Iwobi stated that he is a huge fan of Wizkid.
The former England youth footballer also stated that he preferred Nigerian music over English.
He said:
“I prefer Nigerian music to English. Wizkid is my favourite Nigerian artists. I feel him more than Burna [Boy].
“I have always been a big fan of Wizkid.”
Recall that the player recently deleted his Instagram account after receiving constant abuse from Nigerians, forcing AY Makun to address the subject openly.AY Makun went to social media to post images of Alex Iwobi’s key role in the Super Eagles’ victorious qualifying for the African Cup of Nations.
In a poignant appeal, the comedian highlighted the harmful effects of cyberbullying and voiced his disappointment at the young footballer’s abuse by other Nigerians.
The comedian questioned why Nigerians were surprised when other worldwide artists declined to represent their country, underscoring the need to stop the continual criticism and instead offer Iwobi love and support.
He went on to bemoan Iwobi’s harsh punishment, adding that the footballer’s sole offense was to represent his country.
In his words,
“Anyone can become a victim of cyberbullying. Malicious information posted on the Internet can spread far and wide at an instant, and it is always difficult to be deleted completely. The immediacy of the spread makes it hard for victims to defend themselves or take precautions. The harm caused by cyberbullying is always ignored by computer or mobile phone users.
It is so sad to see how you all have exhibited various forms of cyberbullying on a young man whose only crime was to come and represent his father land. Tomorrow, you all will still be wondering why the likes of Saka and others are never going to play for Nigeria?
