Basketmouth, a popular Nigerian comedian, has given a reply to a troll who accused him of contributing to Nigeria’s problems.
In a recent social media post, in the early hours of Monday, February 19, 2024, an X user criticized him, questioning whether he voted for excellent administration in the 2023 general election.
X user wrote:
“Did Basketmouth vote for good governance on election day? Basketmouth had a show slated for 25th Feb 2023. He is part of Nigeria’s problem.”
Nevertheless, the comedian swiftly shut down the criticism with his comedy, emphasizing the absurdity of being blamed for the country’s economic and infrastructure challenges, the current currency rate, power grid problems, and even the infamous “snake that swallowed $100,000” event.
In his own words:
“Oh yes!!! I guess I am really the problem!!
I’m the reason the $ is now N1,700 and counting.
I’m the one that keeps collapsing the power grid.
I’m the reason the refineries don’t work.
I’m the snake that swallowed $100,000.
I guess I am the one.”
A concerned follower reacted to the comic’s tweet, advising him to be wary of those seeking to deceive him and pushing him to keep watchful. Basketmouth laughed, “Now that’s the problem.” I’m out of gas.”
Basketmouth told another concerned fan that he took action against the troll to create demand for his next show.

“Me? Na market me dey sell oh. This whole conversation will spike ticket sales… It’s working already…mission accomplished.”

Basketmouth commended 2Baba’s performance in the most recent episode of his skits, ‘The Secret Of Lulu’, in a recent social media post and urged him to pursue a full acting career with his Tiv rise.
Basketmouth is keen to make this dream collaboration a reality, stating that he is currently working on a project using 2Baba’s humorous persona in the skit.
