Nigerian singer Chike has finally released the much-awaited official video for his chart-topping single ‘Egwu,’ which features the late singer Mohbad.
According to Etikonaija, Nigerian musician Chike recently released the official video for his hit song ‘Egwu,’ and fans have been going gaga.
Popular singer, Davido has applauded the move.
Chike took to his Instagram on Wednesday to share the video.
He wrote,
“It was difficult, but I am honored to celebrate music and my friend @iammohbad with this visual. #Egwu”.
“Egwu” was first released in 2023, shortly after Mohbad’s death.
The vibrant visuals begin with the sight of various dancers swaying to the song’s beat.
It also has photos of Mohbad prominently shown throughout the film.
Chike paid tribute to the late street pop artist by flawlessly incorporating his visuals into the song video.
The video then shows Chike playing alone in style before returning to the happy dancing scene.
Pink directed the ‘Egwu’ graphics. Chike began his musical career in 2015 when he participated in Project Fame.
Reacting to the song release, Davido couldn’t contain his enthusiasm after watching the thrilling music video, stating bluntly that the long-awaited visual spectacular has finally blessed our screens.

In 2016, he competed on the music show The Voice of Nigeria, where he finished as the first runner-up.
Chike signed with Universal Republic that same year but left the label in 2017.
He then joined Brothers Records. In 2020, he published his debut studio album, ‘Boo of the Booless’.
Mohbad, on the other hand, began his music career in 2016, following his viral success on social media.
The former performer with Naira Marley’s label, Marlian Records, died on September 12.
Meanwhile, Phyna, a popular reality TV actress, has resorted to social media to express her displeasure with her fellow Nigerians and her wish to become a South African citizen.
Phyna stated on her social media profile that she desires to be known as a South African and invites any country interested in having her as a citizen to come forward.
The reality TV actress did not mince words, attributing her desire to a perceived lack of support and affection from her countrymen.
Phyna responded to the harsh feelings she claimed to have received from Nigerians by stating that she was only reflecting the energy she saw from her fellow citizens.
This daring statement has elicited a flood of responses, with some expressing surprise and sadness at her decision, while others defended her right to express her thoughts.
The timing of Phyna’s comments is significant since it follows a recent comment by another reality TV star, Ike Onyema, who offered that South Africans accept either Phyna or Pere Egbi in return for Nigerians obtaining Grammy winner Tyla.
This exchange idea appears to have affected Phyna’s choice to express her desire for South African citizenship.
Despite her dissatisfaction with her compatriots, Phyna congratulated the Super Eagles on their recent football success, expressing a range of emotions in her social media messages.
